Ingleton Waterfalls Trail

Come with me to explore the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail! Located in North Yorkshire, this 4.3-mile-long circular trail has 6 incredible waterfalls to see on your way around.

The route up is mostly stairs but you can just take your time and enjoy the sights and then it's an easy walk back down again.

We visited on a very foggy/misty day but it was absolutely breathtaking regardless. As the route is made up primarily of stairs, it's not the most accessible for those with mobility issues, unfortunately. The trail opened to the public on Good Friday in 1885(!) - public interest led to the creation of the trail in an area that was previously hidden from view.

It costs £10 per adult (aged 16 or above) & £5 per child for entry - a well-worth cost in my opinion! On average, the trail takes between 2.5 hours to 4 hours to complete, but even with the regular pit stops to take in the scenery it took our group just under the 2.5-hour mark so it's definitely doable on time constraints.

If you're looking for a good walk in the Yorkshire Dales, this route should definitely be on the top of your to-do list! The oak woodlands are just as stunning as the waterfalls themselves. The route isn't too busy either, with only a few areas where you tend to bump into other explorers - generally the lookout areas to the waterfalls.

Will you be visiting anytime soon? Let me know!
